Type 2 Diabetes – It's Vital For Obese Diabetics To Lose Weight

If you are carrying extra weight and are also a Type 2 diabetic, you are not managing your condition properly. Why is it vital for obese diabetics to lose weight?

Weight loss is a way to literally save your life and prolong it because you reduce the amount of stress placed on your body. Losing weight requires a consistent commitment from you …

1. You do not have to do it alone. Seek professional help from a dietitian and a fitness trainer. Talk to your doctor and endocrinologist. Family and friends can also offer plenty of support if you ask. It's important you do ask because it's tough to work on something like this on your own, especially if you have a lot of weight to lose.

2. Join an exercise class so you have others to share the journey with. It's more stimulating when you are in a group who are all driving to lose weight. Exercise becomes more enjoyable. You can celebrate miles together as well.

3. It's important to control what you're eating. It's easier to cut out 500 calories a day from your diet than to burn off 500 calories. Reduce the portion sizes of meals you eat as well as the content. Vary your diet so you do not get bored.

If you feel you need to have candy or something in your mouth, try sugar-free gum because it has a flavor and lasts for a while so you do not need as much of it.

4. Drink plenty of water. This will help to cleanse your system as well. Make sure you keep your fluid intake up while you exercise because it's easy to become dehydrated at this time.

5. Weight loss surgery is one way to help you lose the excess weight. However, it's critical to understand that any form of surgery has its risks. Never choose that as your first option. If you do the surgery, it does not magically fix everything. Yes, you will lose some weight. The important thing to remember is you have to learn how to cope with the new version of yourself.

  • meals will be smaller as your stomach will not be able to cope with the same amount of food as it did before. You have to be disciplined enough to do exactly as instructed to maintain your health.
  • in some cases the surgery may not last if you push the barriers by eating too much of the wrong foods. However, quite often the surgery is very successful and you lose enough weight to not be considered obese.

This will improve your overall health and daily life. You'll be able to do more than you could before and will enjoy life in ways you were not able to prior to surgery.

Knowing why it's vital to lose weight for obese diabetics is essential to helping you reverse the problem and live a better life.

On Your Mark, Get Set, Go!

Do you like to drive? Whenever you get into the driver's seat, you are in control. Your hands are on the steering wheel. You determine the direction of the vehicle. You step on the accelerator, and drive faster. Or you can step on the breaks, and stop. The choice is up to you.

Have you ever sat in the passenger seat, and felt helpless as the driver took you on a bumpy ride? Either they drive too fast or slow, were not courteous to the other drivers, or put you in a dangerous position. All you could do is sit there and pray for the ride to be over.

Your birth choice — either natural or "under the influence" – puts you in the driver's seat or passenger seat. Where do you like to sit?

I like to be in the driver's seat. I turn the key, and start the engine. As I drive, my purpose and direction are clear. I know where I'm going and am determined to get there. If I encounter roadblocks, obstacles or detours, I'll get back on track. I will be flexible, and adjust my approach. Whatever happens, I'll keep going until I reach my destination. Inside me is everything I need to accomplish my goal.

As I'm driving down the road, my water breaks, marking the sunset of labor. I am on the racetrack now. Physical sensations grow stronger and stronger. It is "pain with a purpose." I am not afraid. If I grow it, I can birth it! I breathe in all that is wise and wonderful. I push with all my strength and courage. I do what my body intuitively tells me to do. I will speed up, slow down, pause or keep going …. But my eye is on the finish line.

Of course, there is an alternative to being in the driver's seat. An epidural would make me numb from the waist down. That way, I would not be able to drive. I would not be able to feel the pedals and push them. I'd be "under the influence." Someone else would have to take the wheel. Relinquishing control may cause me to feel trapped or frustrated. That's why I want to be an active participant in the birth process. I'm in control of my vehicle, not other people or circumstances. I feel good about that.

Behind the wheel, I am squarely in control. Feelings of power, determination and happiness flow through me. I am at peace. I feel terrific about myself. As the baby's head crowns, I cross the finish line. I am a champion! Yes, I won the race. My prize is a beautiful, healthy baby to love and bond with. Now that I've captured the trophy, I will never be the same again. I am no longer an ordinary driver. I've gone on an incredible journey, kept my wits, and won the grand prize. I am an extraordinary person. I am a mother, with a little passenger in the back seat. Baby, we're going to fasten our seatbelts for the ride of our lives. Look out world, here we come!

The Healthy Skin Diet – Use the Power of Food For Healthy Skin

A well-balanced diet and lifestyle shows on your complexion and aids in giving you skin that looks and feels healthy. Experts, such as the American Academy of Dermatology, state that, “A healthy diet is important for improving raw materials for healthy skin.”

The cuisine that we choose to consume should give us all of the essential vitamins to assist in the necessary functions of our bodies. Foods such as carrots, peaches, mangoes, parsley, tomatoes, apricots and spinach all contain Vitamin A. This vitamin minimizes oil production and aids in tissue repair. Oranges have Vitamin C, an antioxidant which helps to flush toxins out of your system. Zinc is another common antioxidant that can be found in foods such as pumpkin seeds, brazil nuts, whole grains and brewers yeast. Dietary choices such as fish, meat, liver, eggs, whole grains, peanuts, avocados and leafy green vegetables all have Vitamin B complexes. Making sure to include Vitamin B complexes in your healthy skin diet helps to maintain skin tone and has the additional benefit of reducing stress. A complete diet that contains a full range of vitamins and antioxidants will help to make your skin look and feel much better.

Another healthy skin diet suggestion is to try to avoid foods that are made with sugar, white flour and caffeine, such as cakes, cookies, soda and coffee. Most of these foods provide little nutritional value, have a high calorie content, can aggravate your skin, increase the production of oil and even cause blemishes to appear.

Finally, a fitness routine that you participate in three times or more per week can improve your circulation, which reflects positively on your skin. Proper circulation allows nutrients to be more easily transported to all the organs in your body, including its largest organ – your skin.

With some extra attention to developing healthy skin diet and lifestyle choices, you can dramatically improve the tone and condition of your skin over time.

SSRI Class of Meditations – What an Improvement

Over the 30 years that I've been in practice one of the biggest improvements in medical care has been in the medications used to treat depression. Prior to the introduction of the first selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI), Prozac, in 1981 the treatments used to treat depression all had significant anti-cholinergic side effects. These side effects included sedation, dry mouth and constipation at treatment doses. The most commonly used antidepressant medications prior to the SSRIs were the tricyclic class of antidepressants, and in addition to these side effects at effective therapeutic windows, meaning at doses only moderately higher than needed for effective treatment there are serious potential toxic effects. These include seizures, cardiac arrhythmias and sudden death.

With the introduction of Prozac, which generic name is fluoxetine, we had an antidepressant that was well tolerated with far fewer annoying side effects and that was much safer to use. It has almost no life threatening side effects even in intentional over dosage. In addition it became clear that many of the SSRIs were effective for anxiety, panic disorder, pre-menstrual syndrome or pre-menstrual dysphoric disorder and obsessive compulsive disorder. Soon after fluoxetine came sertraline, paroxetine, citalopram, and other SSRIs.

Although the SSRI medications are effective in a major cases of major depression they do not work in all patients. A class of indications that functions to increase activity of the other major central nervous system neurotransmitter, norepinephrine, in addition to serotonin were introduced later. These became known as SNRIs for serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors. Effexor, or venlafaxine, was the first of these medications to market. It fills a niche in patients who do not respond to the SSRIs, and others in its class have also become available.

Bupropion is an antidepressant that works primarily on the norepinephrine receptor, and is also better tolerated than the tricyclic medications and fills a niche too, having a benefit of not causing the most common SSRI side effect sexual dysfunction, primarily delayed or difficult orgasm in both men and women.

Depression is still a major cause of morbidity in many patients, but with the newer medications available today, alone or in combination with psychotherapy, most patients can get either a full remission or enough help to live a satisfying and productive life.

One of the most thought after and effective weight loss medicines taken under prescription are Phentermine. The medication is usually prescribed only to those who have a BMI of more than 30. When coupled with an improved lifestyle, the appetite suppressing nature of this particular drug works the best.

Being used and sold as a controlled substance in most countries in the world, this drug is usually given only to those who are at an aggravated risk of medical problems arising out of obesity. It is worth noting that this type of drug should only be taken if a person has become obese due to non-medical reasons and not due to known medical conditions such as hypothyroidism.

Most of the side effects associated with Phentermine are visible only when it is taken in more than prescribed quantities and when the drug abuse is unchecked. Due to energy stimulating property of this drug, it is known to cause insomnia. It is also known to cause dryness in mouth due to some of its properties.

Tiredness, lack of sexual appetite and changes in sexual orientation may also be caused by excessive uses of this type of drug. Apart from these side effects, Diarrhea, acid reflux, itching, skin rashes and headaches are some of the other most commonly experienced side effects associated with this drug in general.

Therefore, one should not use this particular drug in situations involving driving and while taking critical decisions. As a final tip off, alcohol should, under all circumstances, be avoided with Phentermine as it can aggravate some of the side effects to mammoth proportions.

Symptoms of Anxiety Attacks

Panic and anxiety attacks are also known as GAD or Generalized Anxiety Disorder and people who are suffering this condition can experience nervousness, a feeling of having a heart attack, sleeplessness and excessive sweating. Panic and anxiety attacks are common, which occurs to one out of seventy-five people all over the world. According to statistics, one out of five panic attack cases have five or more unexplained medical symptoms.

It is necessary to recognize and understand that panic attack is a result of the mind and it is best to address the problem by focusing in the condition of the mind rather than curing the physical symptoms. Prescription drugs and medications may not be appropriate to treat panic and anxiety attacks. Most of the time, doctors recommend medicines and anti-depressants in order to treat the symptoms but it is possible to get added to these drugs, which can result in dangerous side effects.

There are numerous causes of panic attack that includes anxiousness and high levels of stress. Home remedies can greatly help to lower the levels of stress such as listening to calming music, leisure walking and soaking in a hot bathtub. In addition, regular exercise is effective in decreasing stress and anxiety.

An individual suffering from panic attack may experience symptoms such as palpitations or increase in rate of heartbeat, numbness, sweating, feeling of chocking, dizziness, nausea and abdominal discomfort. Other symptoms may include blushing, hot flushes, skin blotches and more.

Aside from stress, tension can also cause panic and anxiety attacks. For instance, most people who are anxious usually complain about general fatigue and muscle pain, which causes the muscles to get tensed due to mental stress.

People who have phobias may have higher risk of experiencing panic attacks especially since they are close to the things that trigger the phobia. Most of the time, these attacks can be painful but short lived. In addition, hyperventilation is also a cause of anxiety attacks.

Although panic attack is not considered as a disease, this disorder is usually triggered by stress and there are several medications that can help alleviate the attack. Prescription medication such as antidepressants and tranquilizers are advised for people suffering from the condition.

Because panic attacks are stress-related, counselors and psychotherapists are proved to be effective in dealing with the condition. Psychotherapists have the ability to identify the causes of panic attacks and can provide relaxing techniques to gradually decrease the condition. One of the most effective means of relaxation is slow and deep breathing.

Home remedies are also available in treating panic attacks. Kava contains kavalactones that can help individuals to have better sleep. This remedy can be purchased in health food shops but make sure to seek advice from your doctor before using any home remedies. Lemon balm and passionflower are two herbal medicines that have anxiety-reducing properties. However, if you are into medication for your thyroid problem, it is recommended to avoid taking anything that has passionflower. Essential oil from lavender have calming effects and it is helpful to carry a small bottle of lavender essential oil wherever you go.

A combination of psychotherapy and medication that includes cognitive therapy can help treat anxiety attacks. Cognitive therapy involves changing the negative thought processes while behavioral therapy is used to change the daily habits of an individual. Moreover, there are many drug-free therapies to release tension, induction relaxation, slow breathing and heart rate and lower blood pressure. Aside from meditation, hypnotherapy has also been proven to overcome certain phobias.

Do You Have Diabetes? Symptoms Of Diabetes And How To Address Them

Diabetes mellitus is a condition resulting from the pancreas' ability to produce enough insulin, which is needed by the body to help create energy. A deficiency of or ineffectiveness of insulin leads to high glucose levels in the blood, thus, leading to this illness.

Diabetes has two types. Type 1 Diabetes usually occurs in young people and requires frequent insulin injections, while Type 2 Diabetes is experienced by older people and is not as dependent on insulin. Majority of those who have Type 2 Diabetes have been found to be either obese or overweight.

Diabetes usually runs in the family, so it's best to know early on if you have it. The common symptoms experienced by someone who has diabetes include unusually frequent urination and hunger, constant thirst, rapid weight loss, tiredness, numbness in the feet and hands, recurrent skin infections, itching in private parts and blurred vision. When left unattended, diabetes could escalate to hyperglycemia, which develops from an excess of glucose in the blood, and leave the person temporarily unconscious, or, worse, cause severe infections, poor healing abilities, heart ailments and numbness from nerve damage.

The direct origins of diabetes, besides heredity, remain uncertain. However, some scientists believe that diabetes can also spring from an infection in the pancreas, a disorder in the autoimmune system and even from an unhealthy diet and lifestyle.

When you notice the signs that possibly point to diabetes, consult your doctor immediately. You will be subjected to tests to determine whether your blood sugar is stable and if there is a presence of diabetes. Your doctor will then recommend an appropriate exercise regimen and diet to temper the effects of diabetes, or, if needed, prescribe medication.

People diagnosed with diabetes should avoid sugars and control the intake of fats, carbohydrates and salt. A life long low-fat, high-fiber diet is ideal. Regular aerobic exercise also helps maximize the effect of insulin treatments. Some studies show that weight management and a proper diet are often enough to keep those with Type 2 Diabetes in check and even prevent people who are diabetes-prone from developing the condition. In alternative medicine, herbs like ampalaya and banaba have also been used to help treat diabetes.

For persons with a history of diabetes in the family and are over forty years old, blood should be checked for sugar levels two hours after a hearty meal. This procedure should be done at least twice a year, as several people have been found to have had diabetes for years without experiencing any of the symptoms.

Sadly, diabetes can not be cured. But it can be controlled with life-long treatment. Therefore, to combat diabetes, regular check-ups, a healthy lifestyle and constant vigilance are in order.

Fighting Obesity With Zylorin

Americans spend 33 billion a year on weight loss products and services. In spite of this, obesity kills 300,000 yearly – second only to tobacco that is liable for 400,000 deaths annually. With over 64 million obese adults, America is in the midst of an obesity epidemic.

The weight-loss jungle, however is fraught with a lot of pitfalls. Choosing a safe and effective diet pill can be a big pain in the neck, especially with the conflicting news and reviews you'll find on the web. The only way to be sure you'll get what you paid for is to scrutinize a product's active ingredients. Zylorin is a fat burner designed exclusively for those people that are significantly overweight. Zylorin contains a proprietary blend of 9 fat burning herbal compounds. The product promises to curve cravings and manage appetite. Is Zylorin an effective formula? Let's take a closer look.

Zylorin contains hoodia gordonii, a flowering succulent or water-storing plant found in the hot Kalahari Desert in Africa. This protected plant, also called Bushman's Hat and Queen of the Namib, is known for its ability to suppress appetite. in the scorching desert.

Hoodia's active ingredient P57 was first isolated by the South African Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) in 1977 and patented in 1996. Seeing hoodia's potential as an appetite suppressant, CSIR granted a license to British company Phytopharm which, in turn, sold the development and marketing rights to pharmaceutical giant Pfizer. Pfizer later claimed it was difficult to synthesize P57 and released the rights to the primary ingredient in 2002.

Several scientific studies have established hoodia's role in suppressing appetite. In the 1960s, scientists found it stopped rodents from eating. In another study, hoodia helped seven overweight people lose an average of 10 pounds in 28 days, according to Dr. Richard M. Goldfarb, medical director of Bucks County Clinical Research in Morrisville, Pennsylvania. Following CBS reporter Leslie Stahl's endorsement of hoodia in 60 Minutes, this unknown plant invaded the USA and is now being marketed in several forms including pills, coffee and tea products, protein shakes, and lollipops.

Chromium, a hard, odorless, and tasteless metal that is used to tan leather, make rubies red, and manufacture magnetic tape, is required in trace amounts for sugar metabolism in humans. Because of its ability to burn carbohydrates and fats and its potential role in curbing food cravings, chromium is a popular slimming aid. In one study, six weeks of chromium supplementation ruled in a significant decrease in body fat among athletes. In another, 20 micrograms of chromium daily led to weight loss even without changes in food intake and exercise. A recent double-blind, placebo-controlled study of 180 subjects with type 2 diabetes in China demonstrated that high chromium supplementation improved insulin and cholesterol levels.

Although it is a close relative of cholesterol, beta-sitosterol is known for its cholesterol-lowering activity as reported by University of Wisconsin researchers. This was first known in 1951. Researchers have yet to discover why this happens but beta-sitosterol appears to inhibit the absorption of dietary cholesterol, making it a popular ingredient of margarines, spreads, and salad dressings.

Another noteworthy ingredient in Zylorin is citrus aurantium or bitter orange. This fruit comes from a flowering tree and its peel is valued in medicine for containing synephrine, a compound similar to ephedra that can speed up a person's metabolism, break down fat, and suppress one's appetite. With its ability to control weight, bitter orange is a worthy addition to Zylorin's complete arsenal of fat-burning ingredients.

Of all the products I've tested, Zylorin fits my description of an ideal weight loss supplement since it contains a potent mix of fat burners that will enhance your diet and exercise program and help you achieve your ideal weight. My confidence in this product is well-founded considering the amount of care it took in making Zylorin. The manufacturer obviously knows what works and has incorporated the best ingredients in this popular product.

Other Treatments and Their Importance in Causing and Aggravating Digestive Ulcers

After years of studies and experiments scientists quoted Celebrex and other few similar drugs treating arthritis, are less dangerous for causing gastrointestinal problems and ulcers. Newly it was discovered that Celebrex does not protect the stomach from bleedings and complications as well as we thought it does.

Non-steroidal drugs were taken into observation after a study revealed an amount of then percent of arthritis patients developing bleeding recurrent ulcers. Researchers say cases of arthritis greatly increase the risk of recurrent ulcer.

Also two older medications for arthritis based on Diclofenac, an anti-inflammatory drug, and Prilosec, meant to protect the stomach, were proved to cause kidney-failure more frequently than it was before known.

Doctors must be aware about ulcer-inducing side-effects as well as about the kidney-toxicity; close monitoring of the patients may protect against catastrophic complications.

However, producers of Celebrex denied these statements and reminded arthritis treatment with Celebrex reduces the risk of ulcer recurrence.

A study within a 287 patients group provided people with old scenarios of peptic ulcer are at high risk of developing other similar episodes. Half of the patients were treated with a combination of Diclofenac and Prilosec, and the second half with the newer Celebrex. A recent discovered class of pharmaceutical products is the Inhibitors of cox-2 enzyme that produces prostaglandins. Prostaglandins are responsible for the cell renewal in the stomach; during this process they produce pain and inflammation.

Cox1 enzyme protects the stomach and older anti-inflammatory medications like Diclofenac blocked both cox1 and cox2 leading to irritations and recurrence of ulcers. Products in the newer class, like Vioxx and Bextra protect the gastric mucosa and delay the occurrence of ulcers at patients suffering from arthritis.

The old drugs forced about 107,000 Americans to appeal to doctor's services, another 16,000 patients a year die from ulcer complications.

Although both medications allowed patients to perform their usual daily activities, neither of them protected against kidney-failure. Diclofenac and Prilosec as well as Celebrex reduced pains but enabled high blood pressure and swollen ankles.

Concluding, doctors must carefully monitor their patient's health status as a high blood pressure and edema of the extremities can lead to a diagnosis of kidney problems.

Tips From a New Mom!

I am a mom of a beautiful 7 month old baby and much like everything is new to her, the reality of being a mom was all new to me.

I picked up every parenting magazine, watched shows on pregnancy, searched for articles about natural birth options etc … Many things I had never thought about until my husband and I decided to start a family.

What prompted me to share my experiences are the amazing results I have had with my baby's health and I had to share it with others in hopes that it will make a difference in your life and your baby's life. Some things are learned but a great deal is common sense.

You know the saying: "You are what you eat"? I am a firm believer and have since 1979 adopted a healthier eating habit and life style.

My baby has never had colic problems and I attribute that to the fact that I have avoided eating foods which are gas producing. That makes sense right? For Example: Eliminate broccoli, cage and beans from your diet. Eggs and dairy are mucus forming, and refined sugar will deplete your body of minerals and if fed to your children will make them very hyper.

She has never had a diaper rash and I am not sure all that may cause diaper rashes, but since I work from home, I make sure I do not leave her in soiled diapers for too long and I use Shea Butter on her bottom every time I change her.

Are you breastfeeding? Be sure to drink plenty of water, so your milk supply will be plenty!
Did you know that by eating fresh Basil Leaves you can promote the production of breast milk?

I know some of us mothers can not breastfeed, but if you can, this is the best food you can provide for your child. Breast milk provides all your baby needs in ways that we are yet to discover. If you use formula, all I can say to you is: "STAY AWAY FROM SOY"

What I eat and watching my diet are not what I do, but part of who I am. I know I have a great deal to learn as my baby develops, but so far I have not had problems with common issues babies experience.

I hope the little experiences I have shared with you will help. Here is a resource link with some eye opening info and it explains my comment about Soy.

If you are thinking about having your baby at home, you are on the right track! I had two midwives and didnt want drugs circulating through baby's system. My labor lasted for 27 hours, and it was all worth it!

Remember, Mother Nature knows best!

Your Skin – Are You Creating An Asset or a Liability?

Skincare consists of Skin and Care – obviously really, but let's look at exactly what that term means. Anything that is taken good care of will look, last and function better for longer and retain its value.

Maybe we should think about skin care in terms of 'Skin maintenance', because there are several factors, which measure good skin care. Consider that your skin is involved in both absorption as well as elimination of chemicals; does it not stand to reason that the healthier your skin is, the better it will be able to fulfill these functions?

Most people think of skin care as keeping your skin clean and if it gets dry, use a moisturizer and that's that. Well, it's a start, but far from constituting skin care or maintenance of skin function.

Information on exfoliation, cleansing, toning and moisturizing is readily available, and both men and women of all ages should follow these basic skin care concepts. However, as we become older, the type of maintenance needs to change and the skin care regime that is relevant in your 20's changes as we move through our 30's, 40's and beyond.

Your skin is a valuable asset. Treat it well, and you will reap the rewards, treat it badly and it could extremely kill you!

Skin cancer is a growing concern in the health industry. As the Ozone layer is under ever increasing pressure and indeed thinning over some parts of the world, UV radiation is reaching the Earth's surface in greater concentration and this is not only having a detrimental effect on our climate and ecosystems, but also affects each and every one of us directly.

UV rays have been shown to cause skin cancer. Getting sunburn is now accepted as a leading cause for skin cancer and guarding against it is not quite as simple as staying out of the sun.

Maintaining a good skin care regime is now more important than ever, and consist of several important parts:

1. Eating a well balanced, healthy diet which consists of fresh fruits, vegetables, fish, grains and if you choose good quality meat, is paramount to supplying your skin with the nutrition it needs to function at its optimum level.

2. Water – you can not under estimate the body's need for being well hydrated. Medial research shows that your body requires at least 2-3 liters of water per day to maintain its functions.
Dehydration is not as obvious as one might think and can be chronic with few or no symptoms. If you are physically active, you will need to drink even more that 3 liters per day.

3. Exercise – Now you do not have to be a 'Gym-Junky', but being unfit will have consequences that you will absolutely not appreciate; go for a walk 3-4 times a week; use the stairs not the elevator; park the car further away from the office or the shops; join a walking club; ride a bike; play tennis, golf or another sport that gets your body moving – you do not have to be an Olympic champion you know, but get moving and have fun.

Finally, there is one more important consideration in the maintenance of your skin – should you use natural skin care products or will any products do?

The answer is NATURAL, naturally. Think about it from this point of view: When you buy food, do you look for 'no artificial colouring', 'no artificial flavors',' contains not GMO's (genetically modified organizations), etc., or do not you care?

What about your drinks, do you not look for 100% natural, low in salt, no artificial this or that, no added sugar, etc. Of course you do. Well, your skin does absorb nutrients whether they are natural or not; it will absorb these chemicals into the tissue and it will then be able to use them, or not. Natural substances are much more easily assimilated in your body and are also more easily eliminated, once they've performed their functions.

As scientific research is becoming more sophisticated we are discovering more and more information on how our body works, how foods interact in our systems and how some foods contain substances which are not able to be made synthetically – well, the same course seats for true plants. Phyto-estrogens are just one example of naturally occurring substances essential to the wellbeing of our bodies. Similarly, herbal extracts, essential oils, fruit extracts and so on, all contain naturally occurring chemicals, which science is not able to make synthetically due to their complexity.

This means, that the synthetic version of a plant extract (often in concentrated forms) is not the same as the natural version and can in fact have different and even side effects on your body. An old, but good example is Aspirin. We are all aware by now, that Aspirin can cause stomach irritation and even lead to stomach ulcers.

The active ingredient in Aspirin is salicylic acid. It naturally occurs in the bark of the White Willow tree. The big difference between taking Aspirin as opposed to the herbal extract of the White Willow bark, is that in the herbal extract there are many more substances contained which have secondary effects – one substance for example is a mucilaginous substance, which has the function of protecting your stomach lining! Guess what, there is nothing in Aspirin (from the chemist) that acts to protect your stomach – That's the difference between using natural versus artificial manufactured substances.

So, the choice is yours, natural or not, it's your asset and it is up to you to choose whether you will invest in your asset or withdraw from it.

Tips About Sunless Tanning and Its Products

Tanning does not make sense. It is an unnecessary risk to your health and the way you look. People have no problem condemning cigarette smoke, and they believe in exercising and staying healthy through diet. So it does not make a bit of sense to turn around and jeopardize their health by lying in the sun unprotected. To make matters worse, many go to a sun tanning booth to get a tan before the summer months. You can skip the tanning booth and go with a sunless tanning method that can give the same results.

The revenues off of sunless tanning products have soared through the proverbial roof. It is estimated that companies producing the sunless tanning lotions are making over fifty million dollars each year. As awareness of the ravages that ultra violet light plays on the human body increases, some people are deciding that having a natural tan is not worth risking their lives over. One in five people will develop skin cancer at some point in their lives. There is no need to increase the odds of this happening.

Self tanning lotions are very popular because they no longer cause you to look orange. Most have moisturizing ingredients that can help you keep your skin supple while still providing that glow. It is essentially dying your skin temporarily. It will come off if you make a mistake and find streaks or blotches. There are some tricks to keeping your self tanning lotions from causing these problems.

To get that nice tan you will need to do a few things before you start slathering on the sunless tanning lotion. Take a shower and make sure and exfoliate your body pretty well. When you get out of the shower, you’ll need to rub moisturizing lotion into your skin before using the self tanning product. This will help ensure that there are no dry patches on your body. Apply a very thin coat of the sunless product. You do not need to coat your skin in a heavy layer. A little bit at a time will ensure no streaking.

Once you have that beautiful glow you were looking for, you can maintain the tan with a sunless tanning product about once a week. As your skin cells die and shed, you will begin losing the color, so a once a week application is a great idea for maintenance. Using a sunless product makes sense. Do not endanger your life and appearance by baking yourself in a tanning bed or with beach tanning. It is just not worth it.

Radiators for Those With Dust Allergies

Which radiators should you install to help minimise the symptoms caused by allergies to dust, dust mites, pollen or other air borne particles?

If you are allergic to dust, dust mites or other air borne particles, then you should avoid installing radiators that work by convection i.e. that blow heat up into the air.

Convection radiators force hot air out which then circulates around a room. Accordingly convector radiators will cause dust and other particles to be circulated around the room. Such movement of these particles will aggravate an allergy.

If you are an allergy or hay fever suffer, you are best to look for radiators that work by radiating heat, as opposed to convecting heat, as these designs cause less air and dust movement so are a better choice.

Popular radiators that work by radiation are made of cast iron or stone, so offer a good solution for those who suffer from dust or pollen allergies. Other options to consider are radiant panel heaters, electric radiators or glass and mirror radiators.

Consider the ability of the radiator to retain dust and the ease of cleaning. Flat panel radiators that are easy to wipe down lend themselves particularly well to those who suffer with allergies. There is now a host of slimline radiators offering the practical benefits of radiant heat and easy cleaning alongside minimalist style and affordable prices.

Also, it is advised against drying clothes on radiators, as humidity can exacerbate symptoms. Think about other ways of decreasing humidity levels such as improving ventilation.

Some people also may suffer with allergies caused by chemicals that are used in some paints. This means standard panel radiator may not be suitable for many sufferers and other products should be considered. For instance, stainless steel radiators offer a stunning finish, alongside good heating performance and have no chemical coatings that may aggravate an allergy. The range of stainless steel radiators is now huge and this is a popular option for those looking to avoid radiators that are painted. It is also worth considering stone radiators, made of granite, marble or limestone, or even glass radiators, though these tend to have a lower heat output than their metal equivalents.

For further information on suitable products for those suffering with allergies, it is worth contacting a radiator specialist or expert such as Feature Radiators. An expert such as this can provide practical and affordable yet attractive solutions to meet any specifications and are used to dealing with all sorts of unusual requests.
