Tomato, Spinach and Broccoli: Three Guardian Angels for Men

Many men like to eat meat in everyday life. They always want wine and meat and ignore vegetables. In fact, the nutritional value of vegetables can not be ignored. Many vegetables contain essential nutrients needed by the human body. Generally speaking, tomato, spinach and broccoli are the effective guardian angels for men.

Tomato can help men prevent prostatic disorders. According to the medical research, tomato contains lycopene which can prevent prostatic disorders, protect the heart blood vessels and reduce the risks of getting the heart disease. The lycopene can effectively resist oxidation, remove free radicals and protect the cells, which can further stop the process of cancerization and reduce the risks of obtaining the cancer like pancreatic cancer, carcinoma of the rectum, laryngeal cancer, oral cancer and lung cancer. In addition, the nicotinic acid contained in tomato can maintain the normal secretion of gastric acid, accelerate the formation of red blood cells and protect the skin for men. The tomato juice can also improve the urination and prevent nephritis for men. Therefore, men should increase the intake of tomato in daily life so as to prevent various diseases and keep their bodies healthy.

Spinach can improve the quality of sex life for men. The abundant vitamins contained in spinach can effectively prevent angular stomatitis and nyctalopia. According to the research, the adequate intake of spinach can effectively prevent the degeneration of retina. What's more, the anti-oxidants contained in spinach can accelerate the reproduction of cells, which can activate the functions of brain and defer the aging. At the same time, the integration of folic acid and iron can accelerate the synthesis of red cells, improve the blood circulation and raise the quality of sex life. In addition, a large amount of magnesium can enhance the strength of muscles for the male body.

Broccoli can help men prevent prostatic cancer. Nowadays, prostatic cancer has become an important killer among men. Nearly 220000 men can be died of the disease each year. Therefore, men can effectively prevent the disease by increasing the intake of brocoli moderately. Broccoli can also play an important role in killing the bacteria which can cause gastric cancer. In addition, broccoli contains abundant flavonoid which can prevent infection, the oxidation of cholesterol and the condensation of blood platelets so as to decrease the risks of getting the heart disease and apoplexy. Therefore, it is necessary for men to frequently eat broccoli in everyday life.

New Ways to Treat Post-Stroke Spasticity

New ways to treat post-stroke spasticity are giving stroke patients, even those in vegetable state, new hope for recovery. The National Stroke Association (NSA) Website has already added Intrathecal Baclofen (ITB) Therapy and Botulinum toxin A (Botox) as part of its list on how to treat stroke patients with spasticity.

Spasticity is a resistance in the muscles to stretch after an injury to the central nervous system like stroke, which makes it difficult for patients to clench their hand, flex their fist, move their arm away from their body, or walk properly. Spasticity is often an underestimated effect of stroke which leads to grave pain for the patient if left untreated.

In the past, stroke patients who suffer spasticity are limited to oral medicines that leave them sedated and with slow, limited developments despite physical therapy. Through ITB and Botox, post-stroke patients with spasticity can gain better recovery with no lethargy as medication is targeted to the specific area of the body needing therapy.

Relevant data reveal that patients with severe spasticity have shown an 89% reduction of spasticity-related pain on top of improving mobility, daily functioning and quality of life. Thus, ITB's dramatic effects to stroke patients has now pushed for a defect investigation on its benefits through the Spasticity In STrokE Randomized Study (SISTERS), an international trial conducted in 20 European and US sites.

SISTERS aim to reduce spasticity after 6 months of treatment that is partnered with physical therapy (PT). Recently, European company Medtronic announced its enrollment of European patients into the study.

Any stroke patient with spasticity is candidate to ITB – from those who can walk and just want to walk better to those who are already in a vegetative state. What actually happens during therapy is that, a catheter is tunneled under the skin of the stroke patient where spasticity is experienced. This then is pushed up until it reaches the spine. Once there, a minimal amount of medication is pumped.

On the other hand, botox, such as the brand Dysport, has already been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to treat focal spasticity for stroke patients but intensive care is necessary in its application as it comes from the same bacterium that causes botulism. Botox aids recovery from spasticity because it blocks the release of chemical messages that cause the muscles to contract, thereby ending spasms in the affected muscles. However, Botox therapy is repeated every three months which increases the price of stroke therapy.

These two new ways of treating spasticity are great breakthroughs especially since stroke patients with severe spasticity normally do not respond adequately to oral medication and physical therapy. Patients, on the other hand, can choose these treatments on top of medications that use together with it, like NeuroAid which is a price competitive alternative that helps shorten stroke rehabilitation on a longer term. Other ways to treat spasticity, according to NSA, are stretching, injections, and surgery.

Hair Loss Treatment – Causes of Balding in Men – Hair Transplantation

A lot of men experience alopecia at some point in their lives; in fact research indicates that 4 in 7 men have the baldness gene. Baldness can start at different ages; most men experience it at around the age of 35, however today there are several cases of early hair loss in men, starting as early as 20s. The venture in to hair transplantation is becoming a really common medical practice, since men are seeking solutions to curb hair loss. Many men assume that baldness is a result of excessive testosterone but they are completely wrong. We will look deeply into this hormone causing the male pattern baldness i.e. androgenic alopecia, as well as other factors that cause it. This will make you more enlightened and well-informed to practice preventive measures against losing hair early enough.

Common causes of Male Hair Loss

Androgenic alopecia triggered by Di Hydro Testosterone (DHT)

This is a pattern of hair thinning in men which results in a receding hairline and a thinning crown, leaving a horse shoe shaped ring at the back and sides of the head. This is caused by a hormone called dihydtotestosterone (DHT) which affects hair growth and prostate as well. DHT acts on genetically vulnerable follicles, causing them to shorten, miniaturize and eventually disappear hence thinning in the specific areas of the scalp until the hair completely stops growing. However the hair at the back of the head is less susceptible to DHT and more permanent. During hair transplantation, the permanent hair is transplanted to the balding area, and since the follicles retain their DHT effects resistivity characteristics, they continue to grow normally.

To prevent the effects of DHT, medications like Rogaine (minoxidil) and Propecia (finasteride) can be taken to reverse miniaturization.

Physical and Emotional Stress

Physically stressing the hair strands by pulling hair tightly either braiding or pony tails called traction alopecia and other activities like excessive styling using lots of heat or harsh chemicals cause hair loss by weakening the strands that eventually break off. Some people also have the habit of pulling off their hair unknowingly; this is known as trichotillomania; a habit that results in alopecia.

Chemotherapy while targeting rapidly growing cells affects the growth phase of hair, slowing growth and eventually hair thinning. Radiotherapy of the scalp causes trauma to the affected areas causing baldness. Stressful experiences like accidents, severe illness, surgery poisoning, cause temporary shock loss where a lot of hair enters resting phase at the same time telogen effluvium, resulting in severe shedding and balding.

Emotionally stressful periods like death of a loved one, break ups and divorce can also cause hair loss.

Medication and Drugs

Some drugs which affect the natural hormonal balance can cause permanent or temporary loss of hair. Such medications are for example anabolic steroids and drugs that are used to cure blood pressure, acne, diabetes, blood thinners, anti depressants, heart disease, cholesterol and mycotic infections.

Seasonal Hair Loss

Seasonal hair loss occurs during the changes of seasons, because the skin is trying to adjust itself to the new weather. Maximum hair loss is experienced during winter, the scalp gets too dry and flaky and sheds hair. In summer, the skin sweats a lot, blocking pores and preventing healthy hair-growth. Excessive UV rays from the sun damage the hair.

Immune system diseases and Hypothyroidism

The thyroid gland regulates the metabolism of the body by releasing some hormones. Birth abnormalities and removal of thyroid gland causes hypothyroidism which is under production of some hormones resulting in patchy loss known as alopecia areata.

Diseases where the immune system attacks healthy body tissue are known as autoimmune diseases e.g diabetes and arthritis. Cicatricial alopecia is hair loss that results from the immune system attacking the hair follicles causing permanent hair loss scars.

Poor Nutrition

Hair is made from protein called keratin. Poor nutrition affects hair-growth. Deficiencies in nutrients like protein, iron, vitamin B, zinc, biotin. Excess vitamin A intake can also cause hair loss.

A common fungal infection of the scalp commonly known as ring worm (tinea capitis) that arise due to poor hygiene causes hair loss scar. Other infections that cause alopecia secondary syphilis, dissecting celullitis and folliculitis. In a more oily scalp, a microscopic mite called demodex follicullorum is likely to thrive; it feeds on sebum, denying hair its nutrients causing thinning and falling.

Unhealthy Lifestyle

Poor habits like insufficient sleep, smoking and excessive drinking can also affect hair growth adversely. Carbon monoxide from smoke prevents circulation of oxygen to the follicles, while excess drinking of alcohol causes dehydration stopping the body from absorbing essential nutrients.

Does Birth Control Cause Hair Loss?

Oral contraceptives and other forms of hormonal birth control can trigger hair loss disorders such as telogen effluvium, androgenetic alopecia and alopecia areata. It is not uncommon for teenagers and young women to experience hair loss after using certain birth control methods including the pill, patch, injection, implant and vaginal ring. Although many women use these products without any serious side effects, there is no way of knowing how one will respond until the medication has been used for several months.

Female Pattern Baldness

Any hormonal change can trigger the onset of female pattern baldness (also known as androgenetic alopecia) in those who are genetically predisposed. The most commonly prescribed contraception effects the endocrine system, causing changes that can disrupt delicate hormonal balance. Women who have a family history of genetic thinning may be advised to only use birth control pills with a low-androgen index – or to consider an alternate form of pregnancy prevention.

Early sunset androgentic alopecia is becoming more common. Some experts believe this is due to increased use of birth control at a younger age for problems such as acne, premenstrual cramps and mood swings.

Telogen Effluvium

Telogen effluvium is a common condition that causes excessive shedding from the roots. Birth control medications are among the many possible causes of this condition. The hair growth cycle is very sensitive to change, disturbance or imbalance. Even a minor imbalance can disrupt the hair growth cycle. The physiological changes that occur when hormonal contraceptives are used can trigger the onset of telogen effluvium. This can be a temporary condition if the body quickly adjusts to the medication. If the body does not adapt, shedding will continue.

Depletion of Nutrients

Many women are not aware that contraceptive use can deplete or inhibit the absorption of certain nutrients that are essential for healthy hair growth. Deficiency in one or more of these nutrients can lead to hair loss. Vitamins B2, B6, B12, vitamin C, folic acid, magnesium, zinc and the amino acid l-tyrosine are among the nutrients that can be compromised due to birth control use.

Contraceptive medications also tend to increase copper levels. Although copper is necessary for healthy hair growth, elevated levels can cause diffuse shedding and undesirable changes in texture.

Nutritional imbalances that occur due to birth control use can be the cause (or a contributing factor) of hair loss. Extremely healthy diet from a wide variety of nourishing foods and supplements may help prevent the possibility of this type of telogen effluvium.

Candidiasis albicans

Contraception use puts women at a higher risk for developing systemic yeast overgrowth known as Candidiasis albicans. Hair loss, skin problems and many other symptoms can result from this common infection. An over-all feeling of un-wellness will prevail. When cause of hair loss can not be identified and other symptoms exist, systemic yeast infection should be considered.

The thyroid is intimately connected to healthy hair growth. Even a slight thyroid imbalance can cause hair loss. Birth control can alter thyroid function by stimulating excess thyroid binding globulin (TBG) due to high estrogen levels. This condition may go undetected, as standard thyroid tests do not always include TBG levels.
Birth control can indirectly cause hair loss by impairing thyroid function.

Inflammation is involved with most, if not all hair loss problems. In fact some experts believe that chronic low level inflammation is at the root of all modern day illnesses. Although thinning hair may be the first visible symptom of systemic inflammation, this condition can wreak havoc on the body if it is not corrected.

Recent studies reveal that women who take birth control have up to twice as much C-reactive protein (CRP) than those who do not. High CRP levels are associated with inflammation – as CRP levels rise when there is inflammation in the body. Anti-inflammatory diets and supplements are often recommended for those suffering with androgenetic alopecia, alopecia areata, telogen effluvium and other related disorders.

Autoimmune Conditions

Birth control is one of many possible factors that can cause trigger the onset of autoimmune disorders in those who are predisposed. Autoimmune conditions can lie dormant until the body is affected by something that activates the condition.

Alopecia areata is an autoimmune condition that targets hair follicles, causing bald patches. Other variations of alopecia areata can cause more severe shedding or baldness. Although other autoimmune conditions may not directly target follicles, hair loss can be a symptom of a wide variety of autoimmune conditions.

Those who are susceptible due to family history may wish to seek alternative methods of pregnancy prevention. Unfortunately, often there is no way of predictability until the condition is triggered.

Shedding after Discontinuing Birth Control

Discontinuing or switching to another type of hormonal birth control can also cause same symptoms as another change in hormonal environment is created. Many women are handed their birth control prescription without being made aware of these potential effects until they start losing their hair and begin to research on their own.

Commonly Suggested Ear Ache Remedies

A viral or bacterial infection of the middle ear is called Acute Otitis Media. It usually results from a complication of an allergy or common cold. This type of infection is more frequent in children. However, symptoms as well as treatments are basically the same for older children and adults.

With Acute Otitis Media, your ear will feel painful while showcasing a red and bulging eardrum. Depending on the gravity, most people heal from this infection without the need for antibiotics or treatment. However, since ENT doctors cannot predict whose infection will heal on their own, ENT doctors still prescribe antibiotics like Amoxicillin to all its patients, especially the ones who experiences it severely or if the symptoms have not subsided after 72 hrs.

Since pain relief is vital, most doctors also prescribe pain relievers like Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen like Tylenol. However, if there is persistent or severe pain accompanied by fever and bulging of the eardrum, Myringotomy should be performed by the ENT specialist.

The ENT specialist will create an opening onto the ear drum to drain the fluid from the Otitis Media or middle ear. This opening will just heal in time; no treatment is necessary. Thus, the procedure will not affect one’s hearing. Thus, for those who frequently experience Acute Otitis Media, ENT doctors will suggest to have your Tympanostomy or drainage tubes placed inside your eardrums.

These days, more and more people are becoming practical and self-reliant. Although it is a general rule not to self medicate, especially with kids, there are those who still prefer conventional ways of curing themselves.

Here are some of the most common ear ache remedies:

Herbal Drops

These drops have various oils, specifically garlic oil. Garlic is known as a natural antibiotic which means, it possesses antibacterial properties. Initially, you need to warm up the bottle in a hot water cup and then put 3 droplets into the infected ear. You can use a hairdryer for about 3 minutes on low setting. Then, use a hot folded wash cloth that is placed inside a zip-locked bag. You need to do this about 3x up to 4x a day.

Heating Pad

Place a heating pad under a pillowcase. You can lie on it and take a nap or sleep for a while.

Tiger Balm

Carefully put some Tiger Balm along the outer portion of the aching ear canal. Put some balm even up to the neck beneath the aching ear. You can also put a moist and warm compress on the aching ear and go for a short sleep.

Peroxide and Alcohol

Using a small cap, mix about 50% Peroxide and 50% Alcohol. Then, drop it onto the aching ear. You will see some bubbles. When it stops bubbling, turn over and allow draining. You can repeat the procedure as you deem necessary. This will not only warm-up the ear, it will also kill the bacteria.

Cotton Wool Bud and Olive Oil

Dip about half of a cotton wool bud in warm water and olive oil. Gently put the bud inside the aching ear and let it stay for a while. After a few seconds, take it out.

Potato Steam

Cut a potato into two parts. Heat ½ of the potato inside a microwave until it becomes very hot. Place the hot potato on a wash cloth and allow the steam to flow to the infected ear’s canals. Let the steam flow until the potato becomes cold.

Salt in a Sock

Place a frying pan over low heat and pour some salt into the pan. Then, place your heated salt inside a clean sock, Place the sock on your aching ear. You will feel relief in a few minutes.

Put some alcohol in a cup and heat it inside a microwave for about 5 seconds. Allow cooling for a few seconds and gently pour a few drops into the aching ear.

Blow Dryer

Gently blow through your nose while you hold your nostrils shut. Using a blow dryer, put in on low setting and point it into your aching ear from a distance.

Alcohol and White Vinegar

Apply a few drops of Alcohol onto the aching ear. Then, apply a few drops of white vinegar before lying down, for about 10 minutes. Your aching side should be the upper part. After a few minutes, urn so that your aching side will face down and will lie onto a hot damp towel. Wait until the towel cools down, reheat it and repeat the procedure for about 4x.

Causes of Sudden Hearing Loss

Sudden hearing loss, is sudden deafness, where the ability to hear is lost quickly in a short time. It could happen in both the ear, or may particular to a single ear. Many times, sudden loss of hearing is accompanied by tinnitus (ringing in the ear) and sometimes even loss of balance, or dizziness. It may be caused by a sudden conductive impairment, or a sensorineural origin.

When a person can not hear sounds within 30 decibels or more, in three different frequencies for an a period of 3 days, it is diagnosed to be a case of sudden loss of hearing. Some of the causes that result in sudden hearing loss are –

1. Trauma
2. Infections (Viral or Bacterial)
3. Ototoxic Drugs
4. Head Injury
5. Meningitis
6. Temporal Bone Fracture
7. Circulatory disorder causing reduced flow of blood in the inner ear.
8. Diseases of the inner ear like Meniere's diseases
9. Neurological disorders
10. Upper respiratory tract infection
11. Smoking
12. Trauma to the ear due to prolonged exposure to loud sounds etc.

Most people who have experienced sudden loss of hearing have complained of discharge or pus from the ear, vertigo, pain in the ear, tinnitus, and have a history of being exposed to loud sound. Treatment of cases presenting with sudden hearing loss depends on the cause. Most patients are put on vasodilators to improve the circulation of blood to the cochlea and improve inner ear sensitivity. Hearing aid is usedides steroid in the treatment of this condition.

It is very important to treat children with ear infection of the upper respiratory infection to avoid conditions leading to hearing defects. Beside, children being young are unable to express their pain and feelings. So it is important to take care of ear infections if any or treat upper respiratory tract infections timely. Avoid exposure to loud noises like listening to loud music over head phones or television etc.

Skin Allergies – 14 Holistic Treatments That Work

I'm seeing lots of skin cases laTely. I love these cases because I have huge amounts of personal experience with eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, dyshidrotic eczema and even ringworm. Dyshidrotic eczema is an irritation that occurs on the palms of hands and soles of the feet where clear, deep blisters pop up that itch and burn. They seem to be worse with sunshine exposure. Man, do these ever itch. As a child I was hospitalized for this and generalized dermatitis several times.

I believe the core cause of most skin diseases are: food or contact allergies, improper food combining and malabsorption / maldigestion, parasites, viruses, yeast and emotional distraught. Children internalize a lot of emotions and I was no different. At age four or five, I was once put into a straight jacket to control my self-mutilation which was causing secondary bacterial infections in my skin. The nurses were not happy with me.

I guess what bothered me most about the whole skin treatment process as a child, was that one doctor asked me what I wanted to do and what kind of treatments I would be comfortable trying. They talked to my mother and ignored me like I was some kind of deaf-mute. I felt used as they dispensed the latest and greatest treatments that they knew of, often doing a regime of antibiotics, steroids, creams and lotions containing urea and things that stung, along with bowel cleansings and hospitalizations.

Because of how I was treated, I feel it's important to allow children to be a part of their treatment protocols, so I spend a lot of time during my consults listening to the children tell me what they think. I take pride in knowing that when given a choice of who they want to go see for their ailments, often children will tell their parents that they want to consult me (either in person or by phone.) They know that I will empower them to choose techniques they feel will help them, and they like it when they can communicate with their parents more effectively about what they are thinking.

I found as a young adult that I was more accurate in listening to my body about what it liked than the doctors and their allergy tests were. Gee, when a kid almost vomits at the smell of hot dogs or gags on their cream of wheat, it's a pretty good sign there is a problem with the food … The body is rejecting it.

I remember one food elimination trial where I was only allowed to eat rye-tack for a week in an attempt to clear out my body for some allergy testing. I think it was harder on my mom than it was on me to tell me I could not eat with the rest of the family. "Would not you like another piece of rye-tack?" She'd ask with a pained look on her face.

I can not even imagine what it would be like to see your own child get stuck with 40-50 needles for the testing process they used to do for allergies. These days they do allergy testing using blood. I do it through tapping into the body's energy field with a process called muscle testing.

Fortunately I grow out of some of my food allergies, but I now manage allergies to sulfites, nitrates, MSG, antibiotics, phenol, formaldehyde, squirrels, guinea pigs, nuts, peppers (which cause fibromyalgia signs), pollens, environmental toxins, paints , petrochemicals, herbicides, pesticides, fungicides and who knows what else. These allergies show up in a variety of ways in my system, but the easiest symptoms to control are the skin symptoms.

In general, here is what I've found works best for skin symptoms such as psoriasis, eczema, acne, dandruff and ringworm:

1. Bathe and wash your hair daily: Up to 30% of all the toxins we produce in our bodies are expelled through the skin. During heavy pollen times, it's best to shower before you go to bed to wash off the pollens from your hair, as huge amounts of pollens stick to your hair. If we do not bathe daily, we are loosing the battle. Using dechlorinated, soft water is the best choice. Bathing is easy to do for humans, but let's face it … it's difficult to give your pet a bath every day. We can only do the best we can with them with diet and supplements.

2. Eat for your blood type: This is an excellent choice of treatment for allergies, arthritis, autoimmune diseases and for acid stomach syndrome (also known as GERD.)

3. Add Udo's Choice Oil blend capsules or the Udo's Choice bulk oil to the diet.

4. Support the adrenal glands with products such as Drenamin® and raw adrenal glandulars. Manage stress and cut back on stimulants such as sugar, coffee, tea and sodas.

5. Support the liver by eating lots of raw and cooked dark green vegetables.

6. Treat the underlying viral or parasitic core causes of psoriasis with homeopathics, appropriate immune builders and wormers.

7. Increase dietary zinc. I most often recommend raw, hulled pumpkin seeds – about one tablespoon per day, but I also dispense a lot of Standard Process Lab's Zinc Liver Cholesterol supplement.

8. Change your pillowcases often. As the pollens get on your pillow from your face and hair, you smash them into your nose and face making your body even more sensitive to them. If you wake up in the morning all stuffed up, you might also want to toss those pillows into a hot clothes dryer once a week for 20 minutes to get the pollens, molds and dust mites out of them as well. Some pollens can travel up to a couple miles, so it does not make sense to get rid of some plants and trees from your yard when your neighbors will not be getting rid of their.

9. Use a Neti Pot: A neti pot is a nasal cleansing pot that looks like a little tea pot which you fill with mildly salty water. You run the water in one nostril and out the other. Sounds really gross and I've never tried it, but many of my clients with sinus allergies swear by this item. They say it really works to keep their sinuses clear and that since they have been using their neti pot they have their sense of smell back which had not been working for years.

10. Find out which oils are best to use on your skin after a bath or shower. Often this is olive, cold pressed sesame or sunflower oil. Also, Avon Silicone Glove is just an awesome product to use on your hands as a lotion. It takes the abuse of hand washing for those who need to wash their hands often and even though it has a scent to it, it looks to work well for allergic people.

11. Do emotional clearing work: Many allergies have to do with traumas from your past and how these traumas have stored in your body as emotional cysts. Neuro Emotional Technique (NET) and Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) are quite good at managing and even eliminating some allergies. Please remember that pets pick up on human energy. If you are suffering, most likely they are too!

12. Fast: A 5-Day water only fast does wonders to detoxify the body and to kill off yeast which is often the underlying cause of many skin diseases. Always do fast under the supervision of someone well-versed in this procedure. (There are some contraindications to water-fasting.)

13. Try Allergy Nosodes: These homeopathic drops do wonders for eliminating allergens from your body. We use Professional Complementary Health Formulations nosodes and have lots of great results with them. My favorites are for food additives, sick buildings, lawn and garden chemicals, grasses and pollens and tree pollens. Tinea-Aid is the best ringworm alternative treatment I have ever come across and can be used for both human and animal ringworm. Vaccinosis Nosode drops Do a great job of getting residual small pox vaccine contaminants out of your system (especially for atopic dermatitis) and Bacterial System Immune Stimulator drops Do a great job of attacking and removing the different types of Staphylococcus causing oozing, pus and acne in skin cases.

14. Manage the environment as best you can. One can not do much about your hereditary predisposition to allergies, so the next best thing is to minimize, eliminate and manage the environmental impacts surrounding the allergy sufferer.

So, make a list of everything you are exposed to including: supplements, medicines, cosmetics, soaps, cleaners, detergents, perfumes, cigarette smoke, pets, aerosols, work environment supplies and odors, hobbies, household smells, molds, insects, foods that you eat and drink and anything else you can think of that you may be exposed to on a weekly basis. An alternative medicine healer should be able to go through your list using muscle testing to determine which things you can use and which are causing more problems.

You are the best doctor you have. I was gifted with having skin challenges most of my life. These challenges taught me to listen to my body and to trust it. With a little education and some new ideas and perspectives, you can do this to – and have your life back. If I can do it, you can too! I promise.

Appropriate Preventive Measure To Avoid Snoring

Have you ever experienced annoyance posed by the sound changes of person snoring before? Can you imagine after stressful day's work if your partner will not allow you to sleep well because of his or her fearful snoring sounds. Snoring annoy to an amount that you will like to put trees into ears.

Snoring is due to vibration of the soft palate or elongated uvula, which is often caused by sleeping on the back with the mouth open and breathing through through the nose. Any obstruction in the nose will increase likelihood of snoring. In Children, many cases of snoring are due to enlarged tonsils and adenoids. Adenoids are tonsil-like growth in the back of the nasal passage in the throat. Inflammation of the adenoids are called Adenoiditis.

Extremely obese persons and the elderly have a greater tendency to snore; it is also a common feature in drunkness and in patients under anesthesia. Normally, snoring is harmless but annoying to the listener (subject is never aware of it).

If he is kept from lying on his or her back, he or she will stop. Snoring, however, is a grave symptom when the subject is in coma.

Brain injury: if the patient is unconscious and snoring this is a serious sign. There will usually be bleeding from the mouth, nose, or ears.

Nasal Polyps: polyps are soft, moist, grape-like growths hanging on stem in the mucous membrane of the nose. The cause is usually an allergy. Symptoms are obstruction, excessive nasal discharge, loss of smell, headache, occasional snoring.

Adenoiditis: the adenoids situate in the back of the pharynx, near the nasal passages at the Eustachian tube. Extreme infection of the adenoids can cause otitis media, fluid collections in the middle ear, and hearing loss. Primary symptoms are breathing through the mouth, nasal speech, lowered mental ability. Antibiotics will lend mild infections. Drinking or eating anything cold (ice cream) can bring about some relief. Repeated infections may indicate surgery. Gargling is useless.

Stroke: Snoring reflects severity of the stroke if the patient is in coma.

We can save our marriages and relationship if we will pay attention to prevent the way we snore. Try and keep your sleeping partner to sleep without any disturbance. Love your sleeping partner as yourself.

Dealing With Penile Atrophy: Causes, Treatment, and Prevention

Penile atrophy, two words no man wants to hear together. Unfortunately, it happens. Not completely sure what penile atrophy is? Also known as penis shrinkage, it’s the decrease in the length and/or girth of the penis caused by extensive loss of penile tissue. This condition can be temporary, or in more severe cases, the tissue loss may be permanent. In either case, there are several ways to either reverse it (in the case of temporary atrophy) or to compensate. Let’s get up-to-date on what can cause penis shrinkage, as well as the potential treatments and how to protect against it.

Penile Atrophy Causes

There are several different causes of penile atrophy. Here are a few of the most common:

1) More Candles on the Birthday Cake. As a man ages, his penis can be the victim of many small sports- or sex-related injuries that cause an accumulation of scar tissue. This can affect the spongy erectile tissue, eventually leading to penis shrinkage.

2) Putting on the lbs. Weight gain, specifically around the stomach, can make the penis appear smaller. This occurs because the penis is attached to the abdominal wall, and when the stomach expands, it pulls the penis inward, making it appear smaller.

3) Peyronie’s Disease. This is where fibrous scar tissue develops within the penis, causing it to become curved during erections. This can be very painful for men. Peyronie’s can cause a reduction in both the length and girth of a man’s penis.

4) Medication. Some meds can cause penis shrinkage. They include but are not limited to medicines like Adderall, some antipsychotics and antidepressants, and some drugs that are prescribed for treating an enlarged prostate.

5) Smoking. Smoking injures blood vessels in the body, including those in the penis. This can prevent the penis from filling with blood to create an erection, leading to a smaller appearance. Smoking also causes overall tissue loss, and men who can’t kick the habit may find that, over time, the length of their penis may decrease by an inch or more.

Penile Atrophy Treatments

No matter the cause of penile atrophy, there’s a treatment that can help. Here are a few treatments and tips for reversing or lessening the effects of penis shrinkage.

1) Lose Weight. Get down to a healthy weight with a sensible diet, regular exercise, and optimal sleep.

2) Quit Smoking. Men who quit smoking should stop (for many reasons), but especially to help out their fledgling members! Find a program, grab a patch, or quit cold turkey to get the blood flowing!

3) Male Enhancers. Pop the little blue pill to boost blood flow and experience a stronger, firmer erection. Heart patients should be careful when using medications like Viagra or Cialis. Always see a doctor for a script to confirm it’s a safe option and won’t interfere with other medications.

4) Surgery. For men with scar tissue or Peyronie’s Disease, there are surgical and ultrasound technology options to remove scar tissue. While shrinkage is permanent in this case, it can enhance feeling and sensual performance.

Preventing Penile Atrophy

While age is inevitable, there are some ways to prevent penile atrophy. Maintain a healthy weight and stay away from smoking. Also, be sure to have frequent erections to exercise the penis and keep the blood vessels fit and primed for action. See a doctor regularly and don’t be shy about discussing any new penis issues going on.

Be sure to keep the penis clean and well moisturized as well. After cleansing the skin with a mild cleanser, rinsing, and drying gentle, use a specially formulated penis health creme (health professionals recommend Man 1 Man Oil, which has been clinically proven safe and mild for skin) on the penis. These crèmes contain vital nutrients and minerals for the penis to not only keep skin supple but also strong and vital.

Cure For Glaucoma – How to Cure Glaucoma Naturally

Glaucoma is one of those diseases that everyone has heard of and few people really understand what it is. When you have your vision checked periodically at the ophthalmologist, they will do a test to check the internal pressure of your eye. If the pressure is too high, it may be because you have glaucoma. A cure for glaucoma is not known at present, but there are a couple of preventative measures to prevent worsening of the condition.

One of the easiest ways to control glaucoma is to walk briskly for twenty minutes every other day. Aerobic exercise on a regular basis has been shown to improve circulation to the eye, including the retina and to lower the internal pressure of your eye. If you prefer a more athletic plan, try regular aerobic exercise. Each of these treatments can be accompanied by eye drops to keep the eye pressure reduced.

Mental conditioning has been suggested as a cure for glaucoma. As a type of biofeedback, picture the pressure of your eyes becoming less and less. This can be done as you are reclining before sleeping each night.

Acupuncture is believed to be helpful in reducing the internal pressure. Scientific measurements have not reported a reduction in the internal eye pressure, but many patients feel that their vision is better and clearer once the treatments have commenced.

Until the exact cause of the disease is determined, it is unlikely that a cure for glaucoma can be recommended. Scientists know the symptoms of the condition, but they don’t know why it appears as it does. The search for a cure continues by specialists in field. If glaucoma is not treated by one or more of these methods, it is quite common for blindness to follow. Currently, ophthalmologists use eye drops to reduce the pressure in the eyes.

How to Effectively Treat Nearsightedness

Nearsightedness is a common eye problem that a lot of people are suffering from. Also referred to as myopia, it adversely affects the person's vision and in how he or she sees objects at a distance. Some of the symptoms of nearsightedness occur at the sunset of old age while there are also others who suffer from this disorder even in their younger years.

You may have been wondering if there is a way to cure myopia. There are actually many natural ways of treating this bothersome disorder. Natural because the patient would need no tools such as glasses or contact lenses in order to correct vision.

The natural ways of treating nearsightedness were discarded as an offshoot to the discovery of the causes of the myopia. Eye problems are often traced back to be caused by bad habits that the person has ever since early childhood developments. Although there are also genetic factors that can affect myopia, excessive eye strain and bad habits are also major factors.

If you want to cure yourself from myopia, you should keep in mind the major factors that cause it. Although there is basically nothing you can do about the genetic factor, you can simply turn your attention to bad habits and eye strain which can cause myopia.

When you have myopia, you tend to focus on objects which are close to you for a long period of time. Most often than not, children at their early years in school were required to look at textbooks closer and this is what caused them to have myopia. Try to rest your eyes at regular intervals to avoidraining it. Practice this closely in order to naturally treat your disorder.

If you are anxious or nervous, try to relax and calm yourself. Anxiety and stress are also factors of myopia so try to avoid them at all costs.

Learn The Truth About Himalayan Goji Berries

Himalayan Goji Berries = Nutrient Packed Goodness

In the Himalayan Mountains, you'll find large numbers of goji berries being grown for commercial uses. These lovely reddish fruits have become a big business for the country because of the berries' high level of nutrients and antioxidants. Let's delve a little deeper into what makes these Himalayan Goji berries something special.

Some of the Research Findings

Although Himalayan Goji berries have been used for medicinal and culinary purposes in China for thousands of years, the West is just now trying to determine if they really can do miraculous things for people's health. Many of the studies are finding promising results. For example, in 2004 studies conducted on rabbits who had diabetes showed improvements in their blood glucose and in their good cholesterol. Two years later, studies on aging mice found that the antioxidants in the berries did reduce the number of free radicals while also improving the effectiveness of their immune system.

These tests clearly suggest that the health benefits of the berries are not purely myths dreamed up by marketing departments. They do have a clear basis in science.

Understanding the Importance of Antioxidants

One of the most impressive benefits of the Himalayan Goji berries is their significant levels of antioxidants. While you may have heard that having these compounds in your diet can provide huge health benefits, most people are not clear about how they actually help.

In the modern world, we are constantly coming into contact with secondhand smoke, pollution, and a wide range of other sources of free radicals. When these are bouncing around inside your body, they can cause damage and that damage shows up by increasing your risks of diseases. Antioxidants help "capture" the free radicals therefore making them non-threatening. The more antioxidants you have in your body the better off you will be because you will have sufficient levels to combat large numbers of free radicals.

Appreciating the Berries

Not only do the Himalayan Goji berries provide high levels of these important antioxidants, but they also taste good. Their flavor is comparable to other berries, such as strawberries, raspberries, and even cranberries. If that sounds like a tasty fruit or you just want to take extra measures to protect your body from dangerous free radicals, you should give them a try.

Safe and Effective Anesthesia Care for Your Cosmetic Procedure

Providing their patients with safe and competent care is the top priority at most plastic surgeon's offices. Opting to undergo a cosmetic procedure is a big decision in any woman or man's life. Most patients are understandably nervous before their procedure, however, all patients are pleasantly surprised afterwards upon realizing how easily the procedure is performed under local anesthesia.

Not all clinics are using this optimal and safer method yet, mainly because it requires more skill, training and careful monitoring. Of the clinics who are utilizing Dissociative Sedation, thousands of procedures have been performed with no cases or minimal incidences of deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolus. These complications are more common when general anesthesia is used due to the stagnation of blood that may occur in large veins which, because of the lack of mucle tonus and / or contracting during prolonged, deep general anesthesia, facilitates intravascular thrombi formation.

Dissociative sedation allows for deep anesthesia but does not interfere with reflexes and muscle tonus, so that patients are able to cough on their own. More importantly, their leg muscles maintain tons throughout the procedure, regardless of its length. Additionally, there is a protective effect of one of the medications used with this technique because it provides a reduced platelet aggregation, which may explain the lower incidence of deep vein thrombosis.

Plastic surgeons who make use of safe sedation are highly trained in administering this safe and effective technique. It is important to most plastic surgeons that their patients are well educated and aware of the long and safe history of dissociative anesthesia prior to their procedure.

Penis Function and Gout Can Be Linked

It’s no news that we prefer things that work rather than things that don’t work, and so a man is much happier when he is blessed with good penis function rather than faulty penis function. Maintaining a proper level of penis health is one way to help maintain penis function, but sometimes issues arise outside of pen is health which can impact function. For example, health conditions that develop elsewhere in the body may have a secondary effect on the penis. Surprisingly, this can be the case with gout.

About gout

Many people are surprised to learn that gout is even still a “thing” today. Often if a person thinks of gout at all, they think of it as something that used to affect decadent gluttons from centuries past and visualize a bewigged and pomaded nobleman who has overindulged in wine and rich foods, sitting with a bandaged foot raised on a velvet stool.

In fact, gout is not necessarily a “rich person’s disease” at all, and is more common today than one might think. As many as 8 million people in America suffer from gout, a substantial number. And they are by no means all members of the moneyed elite.

Uric acid

Gout is technically a form of arthritis, in that it attacks the joints of the body. While it may appear in the ankles or knees, the majority of gout cases occur in the toes – and almost always in the big toe.

Gout occurs when there is too much uric acid in the body and this acid forms large crystals which then get stuck in the joints. It can be quite painful, sometimes leaving a person unable to walk.

Uric acid is formed as a waste product when the body digests foods containing a substance known as prurine. Usually, the uric acid leaves the body through urination – but if there is too much uric acid, it gets into the bloodstream and there can form the nasty crystals.

Prurine is found in many foods, including red meat, beer, dried beans, organ meats, and some kinds of seafood. Consuming too much of these may cause uric acid to build up, but some people have a genetic predisposition toward developing uric acid. Pother people may have medical conditions, such as diabetes, or lifestyle issues, such as obesity, which can also increase the risk of developing gout.

Gout and penis function

So how does a problem in the big toe potentially affect penis function? It has to do with blood vessels.

The lining of blood vessels is called endothelium, and the stronger the endothelium, the stronger the blood vessel. Penile blood vessels especially need to be strong, as it is their ability to accommodate increased blood flow that influences erect penis function. But as uric acid travels throughout the bloodstream, it can cause damage to the endothelium. When uric acid levels are high, as with gout, the potential to damage the endothelium increase substantially.

Men with gout, or who suspect that they may be inclined toward gout, should consult with a doctor to discuss options for lowering uric acid levels and maintaining them at an acceptable level.

Whether penis function is impacted by gout or by other factors, it stands to reason that the healthier the penis, the more resistant to issues it can be. Therefore, men should regularly apply a top drawer penis health creme (health professionals recommend Man 1 Man Oil, which is clinically proven mild and safe for skin). It’s especially important to select a crème that contains both L-arginine and vitamin C. L-arginine is an amino acid which helps boost nitric oxide production, which enables penile blood vessels to more properly expand as needed. And vitamin C also aids in proper penile blood flow, buttressing the efforts of L-arginine.
